Happy New Year from the Our Memphis History Team

What can be said about 2020 that hasn’t already been said? It was a tough year for our fellow Memphians, Americans, and the world. We hope that you have seen some good mixed in with the bad this year.

It should come as no shock to you that our passion here at OMH is history. We read it, research it and in some instances relive it. It’s in our blood and it’s what keeps us going through these difficult times. Telling stories, some well known, but most not known at all. We try to uncover the little known pieces of our local history and the people and places behind it all.

What most people are thinking about now is, what does 2021 hold for us? For Memphis? For the world? That’s a great question and one that we do not have the answer for (or we’d be at the track playing the ponies 😉 .

But I do know one thing. Memphians are a tough bunch. We’ll make it through 2021 just as we did 2020. We may slide in safe at the very last moment, but we’ll make it.

I for one am looking forward to the new year. With all its unknown and uncharted future. The possibilities, the opportunities, the chances to make this city a better place from which to live and to be from.

So from the entire Our Memphis History team, we wish you a happy, safe, and peaceful New Year.
